Mt. Gilead’s Completed & Upcoming Projects
Built by Faith.
Sustained by Generosity.
From the very first dining hall in 1964 to the solar panels installed in 2025, every project at Mt. Gilead has been completed the same way: as God provides, through the faithful generosity of people who believe in this ministry. Our goal is to keep you informed and to invite you into what God is doing at Mt. Gilead.

Cabin Area Renovation
Current Project
A comprehensive cabin-by-cabin renovation covering metal roofs, flooring, doors, bunks, insulation, sheet rock, windows, and walking paths. There are 31 cabins to remodel — each at a projected cost of $18,000. Total cost of Cabin Renovation project is estimated at $558,000.
Progress Update:
We are insulating the ceilings and beginning the interior update…one cabin at a time. All of the new bunks have arrived and twelve cabins have been completed with more underway.
Founder’s Rock Memorial
Completed Project
We’re honored to share that on March 21, 2026, the Mt. Gilead Board of Directors came together to honor Mt. Gilead founder, Dwight Jungkeit, with a commemorative Memorial Founder’s Rock which recognizes his vision, leadership and faithfulness. We are so grateful to the Lord for Dwight & Lola Jungkeit. Throughout the 60+ years of Mt. Gilead’s existence they were stalwart champions and supporters of Mt. Gilead and all of our staff.
At the 2026 Easter Sunrise Service, two of Dwight’s children visited their father’s rock for the first time and we collected a few photos of direct descendants of all three Camp Directors. Present were Dawn & Dave Gould’s daughter, Norm & Kitty Jones’ grandson and Dwight & Lola’s son and daughter. Next time you’re at Mt. Gilead, we encourage you to take a moment to visit the Founder’s Rock and remember a life well lived!
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
