Summer Camp 2026

Mt. Gilead: The BEST week of your summer! Don’t miss out!

Who is Jesus?

He’s not just someone we can read about—He’s someone we can know today! He’s someone who is coming back! Knowing the Christ who was, is, and is yet to come gives us assurance that we are secure in Him. The “point” of our lives never changes, even when circumstances do. Take a trip through time and discover Jesus through all the ages. He is the same yesterday, today and forever!

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 ESV

We work closely with parents and campers to accommodate food allergies and dietary needs. Please be sure to note any dietary restrictions in your camper’s Campwise account under the Medical & Liability Release Form so we can plan accordingly and have adequate quantities of specialty food items on hand for your child.

While gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available at every meal and clearly labeled, we are unable to fully accommodate campers with Celiac disease. Our kitchen handles gluten-containing ingredients, and we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contamination. However, we do provide a dedicated fridge in the dining hall specifically for Celiac campers who need to bring their own food.

2026 SUMMER CAMP SPEAKERS

Steve Todd

Steve Todd is no stranger to Mt. Gilead. Steve served as the camp’s Program Director for nine years, which means he knows these redwoods and what God does in the hearts of young people here better than almost anyone. He’s also served with International Faith Academy in Oahu, Hawaii, bringing the gospel to a whole different corner of the world.

Steve and his wife Shannon have four grown children — Katie, Annika, Hannah, and Ryan, so when he stands in front of your camper, he’s not just a speaker. He’s a dad who has lived it. Fun-loving and deeply genuine, Steve has a gift for bringing the Word of God to life in ways that cut through the noise and land in the hearts of kids. Campers don’t just hear a message from Steve Todd, they remember it.

Josh Carillo

Josh Carrillo serves as Lead Pastor at Santa Rosa Bible Church but his heart for young people runs deep. Before stepping into his current role, Josh spent years as Student Ministries Pastor at the same church, investing directly in the lives of teenagers and walking alongside them in their faith. He holds a Diploma of Theology from The Cornerstone Seminary and has served on staff at Santa Rosa Bible Church since 2007.

Josh and his wife Christine have been married since 2000 and have two children of their own, so he understands firsthand what parents hope for when they send a child to camp. His passion is simple: to love people well and equip them to love Jesus and make Him known. That’s exactly what he brings to camp this summer.

Brian Mede

Brian Mede has been following Jesus for 20+ years and has served in ministries ranging from Youth Pastor to Assistant Pastor to House Church Pastor and even Inner City outreach leader — which is to say, he has met people where they are, in every kind of place, and brings the gospel with him every time. He is currently serving at Calvary Chapel the Rock and in the tech space in San Francisco.

Brian is also an artist who has exhibited Christ-centered art throughout the West Coast. For Brian, the gospel isn’t just preached, it’s expressed. When he’s not preaching or painting, you’ll find him at the beach surfing or in the mountains snowboarding. He brings all of that life — the art, the adventure, the years of ministry into every message he delivers.

Turner Welch

Turner Welch isn’t just coming to Mt. Gilead to speak, he’s coming home. Turner attended Mt. Gilead from 4th through 12th grade, served as a camp counselor in the summer of 2019, and has spent the last seven years working in Youth Ministry in Sacramento. He knows what it feels like to sit in these redwoods as a camper, and knows what God can do in a young person’s heart during a week at camp.

Turner currently attends seminary and will be transitioning to campus missionary work at CSU Fullerton this fall, so your camper will be hearing from someone who is actively stepping out in faith and living what he preaches. When he’s not studying or serving, Turner loves being outdoors at the park with his family, at the beach, camping, or on a road trip.

Dominic Prete

Dominic Prete is a passionate follower of Jesus who loves helping students know they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God. With years of experience in youth ministry, Dominic has a heart for connecting biblical truth with everyday life, and a genuine gift for making young people feel like they belong. Whether he’s speaking on stage, leading small groups, or just hanging out playing games, he brings authenticity, energy, and a deep love for people that students respond to immediately. Your camper won’t just hear from Dominic, they’ll feel known by him.

Dominic enjoys spending time with his wife, going on adventures with his dog, and staying active outdoors.

John Cabaniss

John Cabaniss returns to familiar grounds this summer. From camper and summer staffer to year-round staffer, John has participated in Mt. Gilead ministry for much of his life, and that journey shaped everything about the way he serves today. He currently serves as Student Ministries Director at Santa Rosa Bible Church and is completing his Master of Divinity at Westminster Theological Seminary.

John’s love for seeing youth come to know Christ was deepened during his own time as a camp counselor and Timothy Teams leader right here in the redwoods. His passion for evangelism, the local church, and biblical education isn’t theoretical, it’s personal. He lives what he preaches, and it shows.

More than a summer job…

Mt. Gilead is a Christ-centered Bible camp nestled in the Northern California redwoods, and we’re looking for staff who are passionate about sharing the gospel, growing in their own faith, and investing in the lives of young people. Whether you’re leading a cabin, running a zip line, or keeping the kitchen humming, there’s a place for you here and a summer that will stay with you long after you leave.
