Welcome to the Mt. Gilead Alumni page

A place to reconnect, celebrate our shared history, and see how God continues to work through the lives of former campers, staff members, counselors, and volunteers.

Here, we’ll share alumni interviews, ministry updates, historical photos, and stories from those who return to visit camp. We also hope to provide helpful resources, and fundraisers.

Our goal is to keep the Mt. Gilead family connected while celebrating the many ways our alumni are serving God and furthering His Kingdom today.

Alumni Spotlight: Pete Munson

Pete Munson’s connection to Mt. Gilead began when he served as a member of the camp staff. During that time, God used the people, ministry, and experiences at Mt. Gilead to shape Pete’s faith and help lead him into a life of ministry.

Pete went on to serve as the pastor of Occidental Community Church for 25 years, faithfully investing in his congregation and the surrounding community. Today, he continues serving others as a chaplain.

In this interview, Pete returns to Mt. Gilead and shares memories from his time at camp, how those experiences influenced his calling, and how God has continued to work throughout his life and ministry.

How You Can Pray for Pete

Please pray that God will give Pete wisdom, strength, and compassion as he serves people during difficult and important moments in their lives. Pray that God will open doors for meaningful conversations and use Pete’s ministry to bring salvation, hope, and the love of Christ to those he encounters.
